Karl, by Karl Lagerfeld Collection

The Karl, by Karl Lagerfeld collection hit NET-A-PORTER on Wednesday afternoon. The exclusive collection includes: clothing, accessories, shoes and bags.

It should be said that this collection is not going to be the same as the creations coming out of Chanel, this is a side project for Karl, so obviously it is separate from the fashion house. They may both share the same man, but that doesn't mean they're alike. The collection plays with mixing fabrics together (love this!) such as pvc, cotton, leather and more. You'll find a wide selection of items ranging from collars, to vest tops, dresses and tote bags, to mention a few.

I'm impressed at the diversity of the pieces, because when I clicked on the site for the launch I was hit by monotone, pvc and leather, which was a little underwhelming. The pieces may look similar but I think any item (or a multitude) could make a great addition to any closet. My favourites are the tshirts, vests and sweaters.

The items are selling out, but not as quickly as I would have thought.

Prices range from £20-£980 - woah! Get in their quickly girls!!

Japanese blogger and model Eriko Nakao

Eriko is someone I've seen pop up on the internet from time to time when browsing fashion sites, but only recently have I been visiting her collaborative blog which she works on alongside her hairstylist and photographer friends (see source).

To be honest I've also been drooling over her amazing fashion-sense and gorgeous hair. I adore her sense of style, it's very much like my own in that it doesn't really fall into one definitive category. I love the mixture of street style, simplicity and strong sexuality in her coordinates and the photography.
Eriko is definitely on my ones to watch list.

Oh, My! Lightweight, but full of texture for a dramatic eye.

Oh, Honey! Fuller, slightly more natural lashes, for day or night.

Cool Kitty Fuller lash for more dramatic eyes.

Sweetie Pie Sweet, subtle and feminine for everyday use.

Katy worked with Eylure (she wore their lashes all throughout her tour) to create 4 sets of eyelashes (cost; $6.99) that she felt were gorgeous and great quality.

We're all used to celebrities bringing out their own perfumes by this point, but we don't get to see too many false eyelashes being endorsed by celebrities, maybe because they'd like us to believe they're all natural?

Anyway, I think Katy Perry has made a good choice; previously we saw Girls Aloud bring out several ranges with Eylure, which sold out in-store and online. We already know Katy wears falsies, and her make-up is always flawless, so I think fans of Katy and false eyelashes alike will want to snap these up!

As I said before, I like the idea and I think it will work well for Katy. However, I'm not too impressed with the looks of the lashes myself; I was expecting something a bit more elegant, or unique. Still, I will leave my full judgement until I can see them in person.

The Katy Perry range by Eylure will be available in ULTA stores and online from February 14th, Valentines day. For those outside of the USA keep your eyes peeled, hopefully they will be coming to a store near you soon!

Murua S/S Collection 2012

Murua Spring/Summer Collection 2012 - Flower Girl

Murua have been one of my favourite Japanese brands since their debut.

This season doesn't see my love faltering at all, in fact I think it may have grown a little. Whereas I don't exactly see the 'Flower Girl' concept (lost in translation, maybe?) throughout the entire collection, I do like what they've come out with for S/S 2012.

I love how a lot of the pieces can be dressed up or down, which will no doubt appeal to girls who want to spend on their favourite brand but don't have money to throw about. The use of monochrome, as always, reigns supreme in Murua, although this season we also see the use of pastels...and a lone pair of neon wedges. Murua also jump on the bandwagon with their variation of the always popular creepers, offering a wedge version, which I must have.

The pastel chinos, crop top, washed out denim shirt and 90s style dress are easily found overseas for those who don't have access to the brand.

Topshop and Urban Outfitters being my recommendation.

This week; plenty of eating...mainly homemade food, which I have been making myself. My love for cooking seems to have been rekindled early in the New Year.

I finally began to unpack and place new items onto workspaces etc.

The unpacking was short lived though as I headed off to a hotel & spa with the fiancé for the weekend; hot stone massages and rose scented baths - thanks again Alanna, for the bath salts!

I also received early birthday wishes in the form of an adorable birthday card from a family friend.

Review; Pop Beauty & Barry M

For Christmas I received some gorgeous nail polishes from the fiancé and family. They know just how obsessed I am with my collection, so thoughtfully they added a little something to it. I choose 2 of my favourites to review here.

The reason I took videos as well as photos is because I found it hard to show the effect of the polish in just a simple photo - this being most true with the Pop Beauty polish.

The Pop Beauty polish featured in this first video has to be my favourite by far. I've not seen another polish like it. I can't describe how much I love it!
Pop Beauty offer some amazing shades and glitters in their nail collection. The bottles are attractive and come with 15ml/0.5floz, which is more than your usual bottle. It took a couple of coats for me to achieve my desired look, nothing more than a regular polish.

Being a glitter polish it is prone to chipping more than a regular one. This did happen a couple of times on my thumbnails but was easily remedied by filling in the spaces, which surprisingly were not very noticeable afterwards.

Pop Beauty is available online and in selected stores.

Barry M offer a great selection of polishes and I own quite a few of them already. They're cheaper than PB but then you receive a regular size 10ml bottle, and their shades are often copied by or from other brands. This means it won't be as unique, but the quality and look is great so there's no complaints here!
This polish took about 3/4 coats to achieve an opaque, strong colour but I have found this with a lot of Barry M polishes.

As mentioned before, glitter polishes are prone to chipping and the Barry M polish was no different. I did try to fill it in like the PB one, and it worked but was definitely more noticeable, which is probably due to the shade more than the quality of the product.

Barry M is available online and in most UK Boots & Superdrug stores.

Even though Pop Beauty polishes cost a little more than your regular polish, you're receiving some amazing, unique shades/glitters. I will definitely be buying more from their range - I've even made a wish list for my birthday.

New Years Eve Celebrations; Dressing-up for Mexican Food

I don't usually go 'all out' on NYE, just drinks/food with friends or family.

For 2011 I wanted to spend it with family, as it was our first New Year together for 2 years - I had abandoned them for Japan in previous years.

Anyway we (parents, me and the fiancé) booked a table at a Mexican restaurant in the city, as I adore Mexican food. Needless to say the night was wonderful, filled with good food, cocktails & champagne. I couldn't have asked for more...actually I would have preferred it if I had been able to eat all my dessert, but unfortunately it was too much for me. I only managed half.

It's a little embarrassing that I've only just remembered to post my NYE pictures, so please forgive me. I promise to make it up to you.

Update; Wakatsuki Chinatsu

A small update on Chinatsu Wakatsuki.

The producer of W♥C recently revealed through a blog post that she is 5 months pregnant, and now married to a non-celebrity husband. The couple have known each other for 3 years and have been dating for half of those.

She is very happy, and promises her fans she will do her best.

Treats from Japan & Paris

Delicious Christmas treats from the fiancé and friends.

This year I received some delicious treats from people.

One of my best friends from Japan sent me Matcha (Green Tea) Fran & Gianduja Meltykiss. My fiancé bought me Macarons & Matcha Madeleines from Paris, whilst his family bought me a Matcha, Cherry Cake Mix, along with some Oolong Pocky and some delectable Chocolate & Peppermint Fudge.

I have started on the madeleines, but after that I won't know where to begin.

What do you guys think?

Back in November I tweeted about a very big order from The Body Shop.

Candied Ginger; body lotion, shower gel, body butter, lip balm and hand cream. Spiced Vanilla; body lotion and shower gel. Rose; lip care stick. Facial massager.

I fell in love with their Christmas collections, namely the Spiced Vanilla & Candied Ginger range. I can't explain how much I love the smell ~~and taste~~ of ginger, so I was beyond excited to see this range. The vanilla products also won me over with their subtle but yummy scent!

I've only just started using the shower gel and body butter, thanks to a backlog of products I need to get through, but I already love them. Let me know if you fancy a review.

Lately I love layering shirts and jumpers, for practical & fashionable reasons.

I can't say I was disappointed with the Catholic schoolgirl look that I ended up creating with this coordinate, however it certainly wasn't my intention. Although now I think about it, nothing else could have come from these items.

Love my pleated leather skirt right now, red wine (as a colour & beverage) and comfy, on-trend jumpers.

My own personal 'purikura'

プリクラ (purikura) is the name given to the photo-booths and pictures well known and loved in Japan. Why are they so popular? Purikura machines allow you to take a variety of pictures with different backdrops and lighting, afterwards you are given the chance to decorate the final photos.

As they gain popularity worldwide (they're in a city near you!) mobile app stores have seen an increase in the amount of 'purikura apps'.

I'm not a fan of a lot of the purikura apps on the app store as I find they're all pretty similar, but DecoPic intrigued me as the stamps, frames etc are very close to the ones used in the machines in Japan.

Once you have chosen to take a picture or use one from your album (awww look at my cute puppy), you can move and scale it to your needs. Then you have the option of adding lots of pretty, sparkly things.

Options include:

Art filters - much like instagram etc.

Not something you would find on a regular purikura machine. Obviously an addition that is aimed at the current 'filter' trend hitting the app stores.

Frames - a varied and not bad selection.

Stamps - 15 pages worth, all of which are just like the stamps you find on the machines in Japan.

Message - add messages such as 'Today's coordinate' & 'I love you'.

Pen - various colours/styles of pen to write by freehand.

Text - various styles and a selection of colours to write by text.

When adding a message, stamp, text etc. there is the option of: resizing, rotating, moving and undoing the item.

Finally, when you click 'save' the photo is automatically stored in your photo album and you have the option of sharing it with the community, or Facebook/Twitter etc.

I like the categories they have used for the stamps, messages and borders (feminine, blogger, vintage and more) - giving you the chance to pick your item depending on your mood/the feeling of the photo. There is also an 'event' category, which changes throughout the year.

With over 300 design options, if you want an app to decorate your photos with that is easy-to-use, authentic to the machines and FREE, then this is the one for you!

I often find the originality and health benefits of a vegetarian diet win me over though when I am browsing a menu. That's not to say I don't like meat, I'm just not a big fan. Anyway my decision was correct this time, as the whole meal was absolutely delicious. I am craving the 'Cruncy Tofu Salad' already!

Shopping and food with the girls

On Wednesday I spent the day with Toni, Alanna and Claire.

I know you've seen and heard about these lovely ladies before on here - I never make a trip home without seeing them. So we caught up over coffee this time, before hitting the Sales and grabbing a bite to eat. I bought a few items (from: Zara, Topshop, H&M) and had my first 'Nando's' (not that impressive, shame), all in great company.

I was also lucky enough to be given a free drink in Starbucks.

The person behind me in the queue received their drink before mine and I guess I must have looked particularly parched as the barista was kind enough to make my drink quickly and then give me a voucher for a free one!

Thank you Starbucks for reminding me why I love you!!

Hair Refresher

A small refresher for my hair, as I'm back home for Christmas and I can visit my trusted and loved stylist, finally. It's the same cut & colour as last time, but I love it so why not?

It's a long and rather complicated process but my stylist is so helpful and always does her best. She separates my hair into 2 layers and dyes the bottom blonde and the top dark brown - leaving a lovely mix of the two colours in my layered bob. I tried to show it off in the above picture.

Trend Alert?! The Junpo Bob

Komori Jun has inspired young girls recently with her new bob haircut.

She cut off her long locks in favour of something a bit more adult, and it's been a big hit with a lot of girls. After going back to her salon 'UPSYDAISY' (Shinjuku) a month later, she was happy to find out that over 100 girls had come in to get the same style. It has now been fondly named the 'Junpo Bob'.

I love this style. It's effortlessly chic, easy to style and goes with a lot of fashion choices.

Now don't get me wrong, I adore fancy panties but I really do dislike seeing other peoples over the top of their trousers. It reminds me of high school when showing your thong over your trousers was popular. I wasn't a fan then and I'm not a fan now. Sorry ladies, I'm sure you look fab in your panties but have a little class and keep them hidden.

This was most likely shot for the magazine/ad campaign alone and is not an actual trend. So don't worry. Let's just hope it doesn't become one!

I have a lot more space in the accommodation I choose this year.

I just have enough space for my laptop on my desk which is littered with fashion magazines, jewellery, cosmetics and beauty products. There are also several items of decoration from travelling or just things that caught my eye.

Since taking these pictures I've already accumulated more items. I don't know how I do it.

No pictures inside my wardrobe this time as I want to do a clear out in the New Year, which means a tidier and more organised wardrobe for me...and maybe some sales for you?

My friend decided that for her birthday we would all dress as Japanese Hosts.

However that ended up turning into just a general androgynous look, as a lot of the girls weren't confident they could emulate such fabulosity, which is fair enough.

I still had fun dressing in a shirt & blazer, with studded boots for a bit of added rock. Like the Poppy? I wore it all November on that blazer. I think it made a great accent.

Lush Cupcake Event

In October a few friends and I went to a specially arranged 'Cupcake Event' at our local Lush store. I'm a big fan of Lush, as you already know, and cupcakes, of course. The event drew us in with it's offer of a free facial, make your own face mask and decorate your own cupcake.

The chocolate & peppermint face mask I made & I also bought some toner tabs and a shower bomb.

The event was so much fun, and perfect for a girly evening out. My tomboy-ish friend even commented on how she had 'enjoyed being so girly, but it had probably filled [her] quota for the month'. Girly-ness aside, the facials were very relaxing and it was so much fun making our own face masks and decorating cupcakes. Not to mention I chatted for ages with the lovely shop staff. We discussed; shopping trends, Lush in Japan, their latest gift boxes and how they were designed, and much more...

I can't wait for the next Lush event!

Winter Warmer

My fiancé bought me this dress almost 2 years ago, on our first holiday to Japan together. It's from a small, but wonderful store in Shibuya 109's basement.

I only get to bring it out in Winter as it's made from a very thick, almost fleece-like material. It's simple, but the material & studs dotted around the collar make it different enough for people to compliment me on it. This has to be one of my staple Winter pieces, and I hope it will be for a while.

Forgotten pieces of jewellery that is.

I tend to hang my 'everyday' use items on my mirror so the items in my jewellery box sometimes go forgotten. So today I decided to look through it, and I found...

some rings from when I was around 10yo (they never fit then but do now?!),

a giant (fake) gold bug and random necklaces,

crystal earrings & necklace/bracelet set,

a large collection of pearls (most real, others just play things)

I was surprised to see I have about 6 pearl necklaces; a girl should always have a set of pearls handy, but 6? I'm also a little curious as to when I ever thought I would wear an expensive crystal necklace/bracelet set at university. Well, let's hope something pops up!

Ananya's recent post reminded me that I have a Polyvore and also that I don't use it enough. In fact I have only used it once in the three years since I signed up.

So I decided to start using it again. It's a great way to create fashion codes and get an idea of what you like, want etc. I tend to go blind shopping sometimes, so this is pretty useful to me. The above set is one that kind of says what I love right now: metallics, sparkles, wedge shoes, red lipstick, black & gold.

Centre Pompidou (4th arrondissment) holds the largest museum for Modern Art in Europe. I'm a big fan of modern art so I didn't want to miss out on the chance to visit. Students also get in at a reduced price.

The new line of Dollywink products by Koji & Tsubasa Masuwaka

When producing this new line Tsubasa said she did it with a cute, but not fake or artificial look in mind. She wanted to create something for an 'Otona' (adult) look, that would still allow girls to be stylish.

I know the new eyelashes have not been greeted well, but I personally like them. I think they're simple, adult and will add that little something extra to a girls make-up, without looking too OTT - which I believe is what Tsubasa had in mind. I don't really use eyebrow products so those aren't of interest to me. The only thing I'm a little upset about is the design on the eye lash case, I feel it's lacking slightly.

Discuss; Puffy Eye-bag Trend

Getting rid of puffy and noticeable bags under the eyes is something that most women battle with in their daily make-up routine. So when I saw a recent make-up tutorial in Popteen that was specifically to achieve puffy eye bags I was slightly taken aback.

The idea behind it is to create a smiley, innocent looking face.

What do you think? Will you be re-creating this look?

I personally like the idea, it's very wholesome and sweet...however I do wonder if maybe just smiling more would work better. I don't think I will be trying this, but I'd be interested to see others who have.

So I've come down with a pretty bad cold, hence the lack of posts.

I love the wine trend lately, and also on a bit of a gold kick.

I'm a big lover of tea. Of course, I'm English!

So when my friend and I found 'The Mystery Teahouse' we were intrigued.

We've been back several times since, as you can tell by the photos.

TMT is in one word, enchanting.

The owners are adorable and the tea (tons to choose from) is amazing. I'm not a tea snob but I do prefer tea leaves, and a nice teapot too. They also offer Eastern European food which compliments the menu perfectly.

I've been introduced to teas & flavours I never knew existed.

My personal favourite has to be the South American 'Yerba Maté' which has some wonderful health benefits...and you have to drink it through a metal straw!

I drank: Cinnamon & Apple, Yerba Mate; Amanda Lemon, Caramel Passion

I ate: Zurek (a Polish soup) & Ukranian Beetroot soup.

A final photo taken on the train home and edited with an oh-so high-tech iPhone purikura app. Make-up less, with a super cheesy grin which had to be censored.

Random fact: After a long day I will remove my make-up the first chance I get.

Kyoto really is a beautiful and humbling city. The sense of old meets new is even stronger here. It's definitely my favourite city next to Tokyo, although I'm sure if I spent more time in Kyoto that could easily change.

English Rose or Japanese Cherry Blossom?

Skype sessions with my best friend in Japan always make for fun discussions;

A few days ago we were contemplating why Rose flavoured & scented items are popular in Japan, and why Cherry Blossom products are popular in the UK.

We didn't really come to a conclusion, but we did decide that 'Rose Jam' was just taking it too far. Although I am tempted to try it.

Garnier BB Cream Review

During September, Garnier were offering customers the chance to try out samples of their new BB Cream. I applied straight away, as I was so excited to finally see this product hitting the shelves.

The samples came very neatly packaged in a small fold-out pack, which included info on BB Cream and a money-off voucher. The pack came with three regular sized samples - I went ahead and potted one of the samples...

Not a bad amount, definitely enough for 2, maybe 3 applications.

On the brush...

I used a foundation brush to apply mine,

although a sponge would probably be better.

Before I show you the results I will quickly mention that I asked for, and received, the 'light' version of the cream. I consistently find it difficult to match foundations etc. to my skin tone so I was looking forward to seeing the outcome.

As you can see the BB Cream didn't match my skin tone (check out the difference between my face & neck) and was visibly more yellow...even my fiancé commented on it.

Did it work? Skin tone aside, let's look at what Garnier's BB Cream claims to do and whether I felt it worked or not.

"light texture that instantly melts into your skin"

"skin feels more supple, smoother, softer"

It was definitely light, but I didn't feel like it 'melted' into my skin. In fact it kind of felt sticky, like a lotion that hadn't dried properly. I disliked the feel and look so much that I applied a generous amount of powder on top to try and get rid of the sticky, greasy look.

However my skin did feel supple and smooth.

"sheer coverage; imperfections look blurred...your skin looks luminous, smoother and more even"

My skin did look smooth and it certainly evened out the redness around my cheek and nose area.

'Imperfections'? Well I don't feel my freckles are imperfections to be honest, but it didn't cover them. You shouldn't really expect this from a simple BB Cream anyway, but for those who might be interested in it for those reasons - sorry, it may not be the right product for you.

Overall I wasn't very pleased with the outcome. I think my opinion is slightly biased though, as I felt the cream was far too dark for my skin tone.

Discuss: Easy Eyelash Fix?!

Kiss is a beauty product company whose products can be found in stores in America and Europe.

So what is there to discuss? Well they have recently released their 'Ever Easy Lashes with String' in the UK (they've been out in the US since February)...wait, false lashes with strings?!

The strings act as an applicator, making it easier to get them in the right position. Once you have applied the lashes and they're stuck in place you can simply pull out the string - remember to hold onto the lashes though.

There are 11 different styles to choose from.

It seems like a good idea for those who find false lash application difficult, or for beginners who might find it awkward. Even though I'm used to applying lashes and don't find it difficult, I still really want to try these out. It looks so simple and quick! What do you think?

Some of you may have noticed that yesterday I changed the look of the blog.
It's been in the works for a few months, but now it is all finished and I'm so happy with the final result.

I have to give a big shout-out to the wonderful Callie who made me a new graphic. A friend of my sister who I have had the pleasure of knowing for quite a few years, she is so talented and incredibly sweet. I didn't think she could beat the previous one she made (remember it?) but this is just amazing.

Trend Alert: Colour Mix, Take 2!

This is more of an update on a previous trend I mentioned. This Summer we saw Gal and Western fashion magazines alike raving about their love for Colour Blocking - which made a nice change to the usual monochrome codes which are so popular in Japan.

Well Autumn is here and the colours we're seeing pop-up aren't quite as bright as their Summer counterparts, but colour mixing is still in and the gal magazines don't want you to forget that!

So what colours should you be adding to your wardrobe this season?

Inspiration; Seeing Red

The fabulous Rii of Utsukushii Gal made a post recently about Red Lips in Gal, which I loved. In the post she tried out red lips herself (and looked absolutely stunning whilst doing so) - she paired her look with matching make-up & a rock code.

This inspired me, because she was trying something new and it turned out great! So I thought about maybe trying it for myself - why? I have never worn red lipstick before as I'm so fair skinned, so I figured why not give it a try!

I actually think the red didn't come out too bad haha

It certainly looked dramatic against my light skin, but I felt that was part of the look. Even so I don't think I would wear this kind of colour without matching dramatic eyes, but it is certainly a look I will be trying again

So thank you Rii for inspiring me to try something new, and for showing us all how fabulous red lips can be in gal!

Model Update: Gal Mamas

Amongst the requests I received in the giveaway entry form were a few people asking for more model updates, in particular Tsubasa.

Well, ask and you shall receive... so I'm going to do a quick update on Tsubasa and a couple of other gorgeous gal-mamas

Tsubasa has been doing a lot of promotion lately for Stride Stripe, the new gum by Stride that she is the face of - I'm sure most of you have seen the CM online.

She has also said "Goodbye" to Popsister (check out the Sept issue). Yep, sad but true - she will be going on to work on other 'endeavours' which may mean new additions to Dollywink (new products have been confirmed) & Candydoll, or even working on her music career a bit more?

It's Tsubasa so you never know what she'll promote/produce next...I would personally like to see a clothing line for 'older gals' but that's just wishful thinking haha

Maya Mori on the other hand is still going strong with JELLY.
I was so happy when she returned, as you may remember I was a bit uncertain about her future after having a child. I have to say she is looking wonderful and I'm pleased to see her working again.

Back to modelling for Prisilla wigs and a permanent feature on the Jelly Facebook page it would seem she is back and as strong as ever. She has also recorded a song for a mobile phone game released this month.

I must admit I've been on a bit of a spending spree since returning to uni

Don't worry though, I haven't been throwing my student loan away. I was waiting on some money to come through and it finally did so this week.

So what did I waste it on?

The iPhone 4, of course!!

I was planning on waiting until the iPhone 5 came out and buying one of those but more and more sources have been saying that it will be a different design to the 4 - which was the big selling point for me - so I decided to buy this

Of course I needed a case for it as well. I had seen a few nice ones but I'm a bit odd and I really wanted one that fitted my style and personality

This Kate Spade one is perfect!! I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it and luckily for those of us outside of the US you can purchase them on the apple store.

Now onto the clothes mwhahaha

Star prints (and polka dots) are big this season in the Western fashion world, and I'm sure it will transition over into gal soon. Don't forget; polka dots have continued to be popular this season in gal already!

Either way I don't care because I love the print on this dress, and the red belt just makes it pop!! I will hopefully be pulling this out for a twin code with the gorgeous Tori sometime soon, so keep an eye out.

Pleats are another trend that are popular with both gal and Western designers this season. I don't own many 'orange' items so I wanted to take a chance and add this skirt to my wardrobe. So far I'm not regretting it, because it's just so girly & comfortable.

Topshop didn't let me down either as I managed to grab this tshirt whilst browsing for some leather shorts. I had wanted one in this style for a while, and whilst I do love it it's VERY big for a size small...more like a dress haha

Last but certainly not least, these gorgeous wedge boots! They look wonderful on and pair well with lots of codes. Not only that but they are so so comfortable!

So now I am back at uni. I decided to stay in private student accommodation this year as it's easier than a house (which I did and regretted in my 2nd year) My fiancé and I have a 'double room' which is MASSIVE - I'll take pictures once everything is unpacked and organised.

I've been busy going out with friends lately, and I'm looking forward to Freshers Week starting tomorrow - cheap drinks and plenty of parties And I doubt it will change much in the coming weeks but I will try to keep you updated!

Trend Alert: Wavy Hair

You may have noticed it in your favourite magazine/on your favourite model; wavy hair is big right now. Think along the lines of surfer/boho chic, come blogger style meets the 90's crimp-craze and you got it!

But don't be mistaken in thinking that it's limited to particular styles. Gal Models from Popteen to Happie Nuts are workin' the wavy look. It may have started off slow, but Gal power-figures such as Momoko Ogihara & Romihi have shown that it certainly has staying power.

How can you recreate it? When I tried out loose waves, I used only a hair iron which can actually be incredibly effective. You can also create a similar effect with a curling iron of course, but be careful not to tread into curl territory and keep it wavy. Plaiting/Putting your hair in buns overnight is also a possibility.

Murua will soon be offering a special in-store novelty (see above picture) for their customers when they spend over 21,000円 (around £150); 3 barrelled iron - the kind that Momoko uses on her gorgeous locks, and has also been featured in various Gal mags.

Will it last into A/W? I'm not sure. Personally I thought this would have died by now, as Autumn drew closer, but it seems to only be getting stronger. Of course as the colder weather hits, curls will be more do-able and maybe this kind of wavy hair is at its peak and will fade away soon, but for now and until I hear otherwise I'll certainly be enjoying it

Recently I have become a bit of a LUSH addict so I wanted to introduce you to a couple of their products that I love right now.

Trichomania Shampoo Bar

Retread Conditioner

After the bleaching etc. my hair has been through lately, LUSH's natural shampoos and conditioners have been welcomed with open arms. As you can see the shampoo bar which I bought about 3 months ago is still going - amazing Although it is on it's last legs haha

Of course it does depend on the size you buy but when the woman told me that the bars last so much longer than regular liquid shampoo I wasn't so sure...but it's true! That's probably my 3rd pot of conditioner but everyone knows you use more conditioner. Even so, I would say they still last about a month which is pretty good...and when you collect 5 pots & take them back in-store you get a free face mask. Bargain!

Since using both of these, my hair is the best it has been in years. I am sold!!

On the subject of showers/baths...

Whoosh Shower Jelly

The LUSH shower jellies always intrigued me so when my fiance's sister gifted me with this one I was a very happy girly. I definitely think it will come in handy too, because this is perfect for jet-lag or general tiredness, and with my return to university fast approaching this will be needed

I have high hopes for it, if only for the smell alone. The smell, oh the smell, it truly is amazing. I can't describe it but it's so fresh and invigorating...it kinda reminds me of the fizzy sweets I used to eat as a child

Jackie Oats Colour Supplement

Next up is something for the make-up bag.

I don't currently use foundation as I am sure you've seen me mention. I did want to try out a tinted moisturiser though, so I shopped around at MAC and a few other places. However they were all either too dark or felt bad on my skin. So I popped into LUSH.

The colour supplements they offer are great because they can be used solely as a foundation or concealer, or blended to create a tinted moisturiser. I did some tests in-store and the palest of the supplements suited me best, no surprise there then

I'm not really a big fan of natural make-up products but this is very good. This feels so much better on my skin, it's sensitive and it doesn't break me out. I also love that I can create my own shades & consistencies by mixing it with a moisturiser.

And last but certainly not least...

Heavanlili Massage Bar

I once had a member of the LUSH team treat me to a hand-massage at a TopShop lock-in (with the 'strawberry feels forever' bar), and the rest is history. I was so hooked by the smell and the softness of my skin afterwards that I had to have more!

I'm always pestering my fiance to give me a massage, because it helps relieve everday aches & pains, and is very relaxing~ So when I showed him the 'massage bar' section in The Lush Times, he went out and bought me one. Awww

The one above smells like Vanilla, and it's so gentle on your skin. As soon as you hold it in your hands it starts to melt into your skin, but don't worry it doesn't really melt. You just work a little into your hands, or onto your victim, and massage away. This one is always supposed to be a bit of an aphrodisiac though, so watch who you use it on haha

I really love how LUSH use natural, vegetarian ingredients in handmade products that aren't tested on animals...because believe it or not, there are still some companies that do nowadaysNot only that but their products are good on the body and smell awesome!!
